‘Women Who Write’.

Imagiread’s philosophy is ‘rooted in the belief that positive interactive experiences with literacy through early childhood and into the academic years is how strong educational values are developed. At Imagiread we customize literacy instruction for today’s inquisitive learner. We read, we play, we learn and we explore in environments that are inclusive and individually rewarding’.

March is here already! In just a few more weeks we will be celebrating Spring weather complete with new blooms and tons of sunshine just for reading outdoors. With so much to read we thought it would be good to take a look at some of the women who not only inspire us to read but also contribute to the projects that we enjoy. There are millions of incredible women to celebrate, and we’re planning to do just that this month by introducing our Imagireading family to who they are, where they are, and precisely what they do.

The idea stemmed from an event we held a few years back entitled Women with Wings. It featured two powerhouse women who are veterans with incredible stories to tell. Both of them were authors, and both of them were awarded by the White House for intensive community engagement initiatives. The event was so well received that we contemplated doing more to celebrate women during March but of course, got busy with facilitating programming. Until now.

Be sure to join us via Instagram for shout-outs and linked profiles to some of our favorite Women Who… features. You might be surprised by a few of them.

Update by Chas Shaw/ Cardiff Web Design Ltd.

The journey from Wales to Cologne began this morning in advance of Eiry Rees Thomas’s competition win to pitch ‘The Flitlits’ and ‘Flitlits Junior’ concepts at Gamescom on 17th August 2016.

After a series of software glitches and late nights preparations, Eiry, her husband (and of course Jester Bit & Co) are on their way to attend this prestigious event.

Eiry is extremely pleased to have been offered this once in a lifetime opportunity to fly the flag for Wales and the UK at this international event and I know she would like to thank everyone who has supported her along the way.

Local and international blogs and press releases have been extremely supportive and I know she would like to thank the following:

The Welsh Government

Tech Dragons

Radio Cymru

Frankfurt Book Fair

Digital Book World

Publishing Perspectives

Insider Media

Wales Online

Eiry was interviewed on Radio Cymru this morning, with invitations for further interviews on her return home.

She would like to thank everyone for their comment, likes and retweets and appreciates all help and support.

I wish her every successful in establishing new opportunities to collaborate with others in the gaming world.

Like so many of her friends and colleagues, I look forward to hearing feedback on her return and wish her well on her journey.
